Once A Thief - Awards

Last updated October 19, 1998

The 1997 Gemini Awards, honoring the best of Canadian television, aired Sunday, March 1, 1998. ONCE A THIEF, the pilot, was up for two Gemini awards: one for Best Direction in a Dramatic Program or Miniseries (different from a "Dramatic Series") for John Woo and the second for Best Original Music Score, for Amin Bhatia. ONCE A THIEF did not win any awards, alas. But hey, it's an honor just to be nominated, and all that! (And Jennifer Dale, The Director, got to present an award! She was beautiful.)

The 1998 Gemini Awards aired Sunday, October 4, 1998, live from the John Bassett Auditorium at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. ONCE A THIEF was nominated for Best Dramatic Series. Amin Bhatia's score for "Jaded Love" was nominated for Best Original Music Score for a Dramatic Series. And both "Rave On" (edited by Bert Kish) and "True Blue" (edited by David Wu) got nominations for Best Picture Editing in a Dramatic Program or Series. Bert Kish won for "Rave On"!!!
