Assigned as Mulder's partner, FBI agent Krycek was covertly working for Cancer Man and played a pivotal role in Scully's abduction. As an underground operative, he murdered Mulder's father and was an accessory to the murder of Scully's sister Melissa. He survived a car bomb planted by Cancer Man and disappeared with a stolen DAT tape containing the secrets of the government's cover-up of extraterrestrial contact.

Krycek was next reported selling these secrets in Hong Kong. He was then infested by an alien organism and trapped for a period in a disused missile silo in North Dakota. Freed by terrorists, he has recently been located in Russia and intelligence sources suggest that he has lost an arm. Serves Ratboy right.
