Guys, I just had the strangest day and since I don't know who else to tell, I figured you all might appreciate this. I was down at the beach in Vancouver, and what is there but an inter- production company volleyball game and a big picnic spread. Adrian Paul is prancing around in a Highlander T-shirt playing volleyball for the Highlander team. (Okay, black Tshirt and black shorts, red bandana around his head, major tan and barefoot, before you ask), the guy who plays Richie showed up a little later in jeans, Tshirt, and cowboy boots -- where upon Adrian Paul proceeded to make fun of him for not knowing how to dress properly. The team they were waiting for finally shows up. Adrian Paul yells out in a very loud voice "X-Files... get your butts down here...) David D. (moss green tank top, fair tan, hideous gray sweatpants that looked like they were going to fall down every time he jumped.) Gillian was there with baby and hubby. The actor who plays Krycek (sp?) was also there, as well as David's girlfriend. (No Mitch... darn) We were sitting on a log with them all (which was very weird and a little disorienting to have Mulder at one end of the log and Duncan McLeod by the other end). X-Files thought we were with Highlander, and Highlander thought we were with X-FIles, so we just cheered whoever and behaved ourselves, not offering any info (we were there before the game anyway). Vancouver is traditionally very cool around "stars" so they don't mind the public as much. The whole afternoon I only saw three Japanese students approach David. No one approached Adrian Paul that I noticed. I've never been an "Adrian Paul" fan -- ever since the C&D letter he sent us -- but I was quite impressed with his conduct today. Very approachable, obviously having a lot of fun, carefree and happy. Good team player. He worked hard to make sure the crew of Highlander were having a good time. Most of the crew had their families there, so it was a nice atmosphere. David, on the other hand, seemed incredibly intimidated by Adrian Paul (who kept taunting him). He seemed very tense, as though this was an appearance he had to make. Not a great player, but he tried. The only one to get a smile out of him was his girlfriend. He hit the volleyball into a tree, and that was the only time we noticed him talking with Gillian, to ask her "do I get a point for this?" or something. Highlander beat them two games out of three. Strange who you'll see at the beach... Lois R H Balzer Vancouver, BC, Canada _____ You'll notice that Lois left out the really important details, like what Nic Lea was wearing! So I had a friend quiz her further: _______ > >Lois, > Many thanks for the volleyball+ report. It was great. > Would you be willing to have it re-posted? It's > something that many of my friends (and probably their friends) > would enjoy. Sure, I don't see why not. Thanks for asking. > Also, enquiring minds would much appreciate more > information on Nicholas Lea (Krycek). > What was he wearing? As I recall, a navy bandana over his head, (his hair looked dyed a reddy brown color), white t-shirt and cutoffs. I'll check with my friend tomorrow -- she wrote it down. > What did he look like? He looked good. He and David stood around and talked a lot, looked like good friends. > Is he any good at volleyball? Better than David. _________________________ The only detail Lois' friend was able to add was that Nic's feet were bare. (Naked feet!!!) Leigh
